For ages, I've wanted to create a keyboard that reminded me of the computer my parents were given about thirty years ago (long gone now). The computer was a Torch, made in the uk, it was built like an absolute tank, it was dead weight also. Check out that massive metal keyboard chassis below.
More recently I found out about the custom keyboard scene and have now completed my first retro keyboard.
I must stress, I have done this on the cheap but the chassis is metal (ADX) which I have recapped with the best retro style caps I could find in the aliexpress 11.11 sale. And for an extra retro touch, that I'm yet to see anyone else do, I've have added some Rotex. The THX1138 is mostly there to cover ADX branding. In the future, I think I would like to try some clicker switches and replace the black keys as the printing is not great. It was never going to match the amazing looking Torch keyboard but it is in the right era.
