Needing suggestions 65%-75%
« on: Sun, 05 April 2020, 21:06:41 »
Looking to find a nice 65-75% keyboard fairly new to the community and have been completely lost the last few days browsing the forums. I have a 60%, but wanting something nice and a little bigger must have a delete key, functions keys are nice, would also prefer something heavier then gateron browns. I would like some ideas what someone thinks $300-400, would get me? It would mean a lot and help when trying to find buy off of someone.

I just built myself a kbd75 and it's great. I got the brass plate and pcb to go with it and if you like linears, I did a mix between tealios v2 and gateron blacks, and the tealios sound better on it. You can find everything on kbdfans.com, they have an assembly service if you don't want to build yourself and it will run around you budget.

You could check out clueboard, they have a new version of their 65% that looks pretty cool. The kit comes with everything aside from switches and caps.

You could join the newly open Space65 R2 GB, base price is 299 + shipping, one of the great sounding  65 board.

Products from KBDFans are among your best bets here.

For 65% boards, there's the TADA68, which is like an economy model [although it can be upgraded nicely]. Then there's the KBD67, which is classier, but has a huge waiting list. TADA68 is usually in-stock.

The KBD75 is actually pretty nice in feel, although some might find the lack of spacing makes it cramped. I didn't find it particularly cramped when I typed on one. But I haven't used one for a long period. You can get some decent layout options with the KBD75, and they are restocked periodically.

KBDFans is also coming out with a more advanced 75% design called the Bella, although I'm not sure I'm a fan of its aesthetic. And it has a huge waiting list.

I ordered a TADA68 for a relative just after the conclusion of the Chinese New Year holiday, post-Coronavirus. It took nearly 2 months before I received a shipping notice.
