Problems with my Satan GH60
« on: Fri, 21 August 2020, 17:26:42 »
Hi,

I've just put together a Satan GH60 and I'm having some issues after it was soldered together where some of the keys dont work anymore. I confirmed it was all working before putting it together and I could of sworn it was fine after soldering but after flashing it seemed to have issues but I dont know if its hardware or software related.

I've attached a picture of the PCB and what keys work on a keyboard tester.

Any help would be greatly appreciated im really out of my depth.

Interesting and frustraiting, i'm sure.  It could just be the firmware.  Where did you get the firmware from.  How did you flash it?

Next would be to check for scratched traces.  Looks like a lot of the traces run close to the leds you soldered in.  Perhaps the issue is near one of those?

Hope it's just firmware.  Where did you purchase the PCB from?

Ive been using https://config.qmk.fm/ to get my firmware and selecting the satan GH60. I've tried clearing it with flip and then flashing the firmware back on but it hasnt helped :(

I cant see any issues with scratched traces but I honestly am not sure if I would notice the problem.

I bought it from https://mechboards.co.uk/

Their website has instructions for flashing the board.  Did you use that method?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DSw1veAr0dJdA9mKuFLPUf6RfAAe24GF/view

Their website says:
Please note: This is not officially a GH60, but is exactly the same in design with added features such as RGB underglow. Another name for this board is the “minila 64”.

So maybe try the firmware builder they linked instead of the configurator one?  Long shot, but maybe.

Ahha I must have messed up those instructions because I ran it through again and they worked!

Thanks for the help, turns out I just needed to follow the instructions.
