Yep, rarekeyboards is listing another beige M13. $50 isn't too bad... I'm just wondering which parts were replaced.

It's a lexmark one; are the maxiswitch trackpoints better than the lexmark ones?

ISTR after much confusion that both Maxi Switch and Lexmark use the real proper one and it is Unicomp which uses the less good one.

I still find it weird how a glued on trackpoint is better. You'd think it be the other way around. I guess you could always glue it back on though with some epoxy.

It's not how it's attached, it's what is attached...

Maxiswitch and Lexmark made ones using the Trackpoint II. Unicomp used the FSR one.

AFAIK, the only IBM branded M13s that Unicomp made were Industrial ones. The other made all three flavours at one point or another.

So far we have this:
*Possibility of beige 1985 model Ms
*Possibility of different coloured M13s made by unicomp

I presume you're taking a neutral stance on both issues. Myself personally, I don't think there are any 1985 beige model Ms -- which is kind of odd. Mine is 1986 which adds more support for that theory.

There are white Model Ms from 1985 - at least terminal ones. I have seen claims that a PC Model M variant was made for an improved version of the XT that was released in 1985. I have never seen one, but that does not mean that they do not exist.

Unicomp made white M13s under their own brand. I'm sure they could have made black ones on request during the brief time they made all-black keyboards. They made Industrial ones with IBM branding. But there were no black or white ones made by Unicomp with IBM branding.
