You left out typing feel for influence.
Gasket mount is not mounting type by itself (including a friction fit), it's usually a modification or other types of mounts. For example you can have top mount with a gasket or without, bottom mount with a gasket or without, etc..

And you have weight listed twice in importance.

I understand what you're saying with gasket mount, however, I didn't want to get too specific.

Also, the first weight option refers to the additional material piece added into the case while the second weight option refers to how heavy the actual keyboard is.

Hope this cleared some things up.

Sure it tells you like they like gasket mount but tells you nothing about the mounting style they prefer. You're corrupting your own data.

A better option would be mounting style then a second if they prefer gasket mount or hard mount.

Yes, you're right. But I just tried to keep it as general as possible to respect the respondents time and retain attention. If the respondent chooses the gasket mount option, I'm taking it they like gasket regardless of whether it is top or bottom mount.

During my evaluation, I'll definitely keep your point in mind.

BTW. EM7, Alice and the like are not considered "ergonomic" by many people who are a bit deeper into ergonomic mechanical keyboards.
The main arguments are that they are not truly split and not tented, but still typewriter-staggered.

Therefore, I would not use it as an example of an "ergonomic" keyboard.

Wasn't sure about this one- four of the 5 options were equally 100% unimportant to me, so I ranked them all at 5, and the single factor of any value was ranked 1.

Key feel is all that matters and noise is a negative. Attributes like weighting and switch mounting are trivial at most.

I asked about the Alice design several months ago in a thread under the ergo forum. Pretty much anyone who answered said that the design was more about the appearance than any ergonomic benefit.

Reached the target sample size today (ended up reaching 111 respondents), and will start to compile it into excel. Once I've finished, I'll open a Google Sheets so you guys can have a look.

Two thirds said that current kits are too expensive, yet roughly the same say they want cases made out of aluminium or brass(!)?

I mean in some cases they are, but I do understand the labor and process involved for making them, which of course is an added cost - gotta pay for the labor time involved.   I think it's more the re-sellers are gouging prices on common kits is what gets me the most.
