Rama U80-A or NK65?
« on: Sat, 26 December 2020, 17:59:09 »
I'm quite new to the rabbit hole of keebs, spent quite a lot of money and through all my searching come upon one question.
Rama U80-A or NK65? It may sound like a dumb question but my main point is this:
Is there a significant difference in typing experience between high end boards like Rama U80-A and more affordable ones like NK65 or Tofu65?
Aesthetic and materials aside that is. I realize materials affect keyboard sound, but is the difference significant that it's worth spending that much more?
Wouldn't adding sorbothane to NK65 or similar boards dampen the sound and the difference would be virtually not be noticeable?
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind waiting another year to get a hold of U80-A or other high end boards but if it doesn't make a difference, I'd like to get a hold of the NK65 also.

In typing feel they will feel similar since they are top mount. The sound will be different though because Rama u-80 is CNC'd aluminum and the NK65 is injection molded Polycarbonate.

Hmm, I'm guessing the Aluminum version will make the difference negligible.
