I talked to seller into  a small discount. You guys think it's worth it? Any way to  un-warp it?

DEAR GOD WHAT IS IT WITH THAT GUY AND HIS OVERSIZED WRITING? YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET A NEW CASE FROM UNICOMP, EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T MAKE THEM ANY MORE, THEY HAVE SOME SPARE PARTS FOR THEM. THEY SELL, FOR EXAMPLE, THE TOP HALF OF THE INDUSTRIAL SPACE SAVERS AND THE KEYCAPS SPECIFIC TO THE SPACE SAVING KEYBOARD. NOT A BAD PRICE IF IT OTHER WISE WORKS FINE.

Or something.

If it got hot enough to warp the outside like that, no telling what it has done to the inside.

Considering I sold one that was in great shape except for some dust and missing one foot for $70ish a few months ago, I think this one should sell in the $20-30 range at best.  It has a good cable and probably a good key set.  If the chip inside isn't a Dorito you could swap it into a terminal mini.

It would be okay for like $20.

Since the ebayer doesn't KNOW what happened to it, they probably found it at a thrift shop or dump for nothing, and are now selling it for an outrageous price.

I'd just pass it until the guy wizens up and lowers the price. I'd rather spend that much for an unwarped keyboard.

SINCE it's warped, that almost means the internal assembly is as well, so simply getting a new case from unicomp may not solve the problem.

The seller says that the thing works fine, except for the case damage. Think about it, in order to damage the steel backplate, or even the PCB, you've have to apply enough heat that would burn through the entirety of the plastic casing.

Did someone mistake it for a pizza and put it in the oven or something?

I asked Chuck a week ago about the industrial space saving top and he said they're gone. Anyways only the top wouldn't make up for this one.

Somehow, I read this wrong and was thinking this had something to do with saving warped space.  I don't even like Science Fiction.  Too much Through the Wormhole on the Science Channel.
