Stuck cherry switch

Hey guys:

I just got a new cherry keyboard that has a grey switch for the space bar, and brown everywhere else.

While the space bar switch seems fine mechanically, the spacebar key appears to be held down.  I can press it up and down just fine, but all i do is get repeating space bars.  Is this a known cherry problem with any possible cure?
