[IC] Marboard (1) Update | Prototypes Have Arrived!
« on: Sat, 15 April 2023, 03:25:22 »
IC Form Here! https://forms.gle/Qqby9rqTQf2tAH3x7

Dear All,

We would like to announce the second interest check for the Marboard (1), a 60% keyboard case made entirely by hand from high-quality Carrara and Nero Marquina marble. The Marboard (1) will be offered in white and black, respectively, at a price of £300, excluding shipping costs.

298346-0

Crafted from a single piece of marble, the Marboard (1) boasts a weight of 2.25KG and dimensions of 320x140xmm, making it suitable for 60% PCBs, such as the DZ60 and the GH60, it is angled at 5 degrees and can either be tray mount or gummy o-ring, depending on what the buyer wants.

298348-1

Based on the results of our previous interest check, we anticipate producing approximately 20 units. We intend to commence the Group Buy in approximately two weeks, with a one-month duration for the purchase period. After this period, we will proceed with the shipping of orders.

For a complete look at the Marboard (1), we have made a photo album for you to look at, https://imgur.com/gallery/jG4PayQ.

If you are interested in the Marboard (1), please kindly fill out the IC form, and for any additional inquiries, feel free to contact us at contact@marboard.net or via Marboard#1086.

Thank you for your time!

I suggest you include pertinent info in the main post like typing angle, EKH, mounting style etc.

Looks good though!

Thanks for telling us, we've included it on the IC and the GB.

Front Height/EKH?, what's in the kit, does it even come with a PCB and if so what are the options and layouts, will it come with a plate and if so what are the options that will be available in the group buy. that's not even considering the fact that you apparently didn't even have the mounting style or typing angle on the thread at beginning and had to add it later.

I don't even think there are pictures of the internals, at least let people look at the internals before they spend $300

Maybe instead of taking stupid images of the board outside you learn how to write up a decent IC thread that gives the proper info.

cherry blacks - unlubed - filmed and springswapped with tx 55g mediums - alu Plate | pretty happy with this, the blacks were cherry picked so they weren't that scratchy to begin with, but currently breaking them in, may lube them with a dry lube like ro59 or ptfe powder.
| hhkb bt

lubed with tribosys 3203 | like topre a lot, prefer it lubed but did make less tactile but that might have been a skill issue. probably will get more tactile over time as the domes age.

bad orange alps lol | definitely needs a restoration. planning on wax boiling them and maybe a replacement pcb because the board has only 2 key rollover apparently.
| praxis
More
gateron yellows - lubed with 205g0 - 62g tx mediums - pc plate | probably my favourite keyboard already, feels super nice and sounds pretty good, it's got a great layout as well. probably gonna build this with mx browns, I feel like it would suit the board more.
| camo filco

stock with silent reds | Pretty cool looking board, the silent reds are actually good, they are smooth and I don't mind the mushiness (it's not even that mushy as well). the layout is pretty weird, but is useable. will probably mod this in the future. maybe a pcb and plate swap, change the keycaps to something dolch like, and also spring swap the springs in the silent reds.

stock, needs a cleaning and probably replacement foam. Do plan to change layout so it has split bs and rs, as well as ansi enter.

Built with new nixies on pc half plate. Love this board already, probably the best looking board I own, those brass accents are so mint. Really like it as is, but I do want to try an alu build (probably with nixies as well) just to experiment with that.

From their website it doesn't look like a kit at all, just the marble case with no PCB or anything else included; although apparently it's compatible with all GH60-style PCBs. Still no internal pics anywhere though.

At least there is images of the internals (why outside though) but what about the other info, also I checked the website and none of the info is on it, so please update both the threads and the website with all the specs (including the ones that don't seemed to be mentioned, such as front height/EKH, what comes in the kit etc) on it.

also if this hadn't been finalized, maybe adding removable mounting points to the middle two points would be a good option as that would make the typing feel far less stiff compared to all of the points

We have everything ready for the GB post, however that needs to be approved by the mods. All mounting points on the board are removable as we knew not everyone likes tray mount.

We just prefer to shoot outdoors, mainly for lighting reasons.
