[IC] Klein switch
« on: Wed, 20 April 2022, 21:29:25 »
Hi Everyone,
We are the customization lab "CHAOSERA".
In our last posting, we mentioned the upcoming launch of a new linear switches produced by JWK OEM —— Klein switch
This post will detail information about the Klein switch and explain and publish information about the special material P3 in it.

The specific materials and parameters are as follows:
Upper cover: PC + other trace materials
Lower shell: PA12 + 2 micron PTFE + MoS2 + other trace materials
Trigger stroke: 2.0mm±0.3mm
Touch bottom stroke: 3.7mm±0.3mm
Trigger pressure: 48g±10g
Touchdown pressure: 55g±10g
Spring: Extended gold plated spring is used
Contact: Upgraded to palladium alloy contact which is more advanced than gold, to improve stability, durability and conductivity.

Axis: P3
P3 material is named internally by JWK (JWICK), but it is actually a new hybrid material developed by JWK, which is a mixture of several expensive materials. Compared with the traditional POM, PA66, PC, etc., it has better smoothness, lower coefficient of dynamic and static friction. It also has better self-lubrication, and its main component is called "solid lubricant".
Main materials: UPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene)
Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fiber composites have been used in the military as the shells of armored weapons, radar shields, helmets, etc.; in sporting goods, they have been made into bowstrings, sleds and water skis.

The UPE used in our switch is a higher quality UPE with molecular weight higher than 150,000,0 produced by a Japanese manufacturer, which has limited production throughout the year, expensive and difficult to transport, but we insist on using this material to achieve the best results.
Auxiliary materials: POM, PA66
Friction coefficient of trace material is PTFE and MoS2 P3 material compared with other commonly used axle body materials by our lab:

Coefficient of friction of P3 and PC material ± 0.07
Friction coefficient of P3 and 7035 copper ± 0.09
Friction coefficient of P3 and PA66 ± 0.06
Friction coefficient of POM and PC material ± 0.42 Friction coefficient of POM and 7035 copper material ± 0.36
Friction coefficient of POM and PA66: 0.38
It can be found that the P3 material compared to POM, which is often used as a shaft material, is basically 4-6 times smoother than POM.

Aftermarket related:
In principle, only after-sales utility damaged switches.
Since the shell is high-gloss polished, inevitably caused by cuts in transit, so small cuts are not given after-sales, if the shell is damaged what can be after-sales (ex: The switch terminal pin is damaged, depressed, The shell is notched,).
