Kinesis TKO Gaming keyboard
« on: Sun, 24 July 2022, 03:40:58 »
I'm always searching for a better keyboard.  My biggest requirement at the moment is a zero-tilt, and these are few and far between.  I have just come across this and I think it's fairly new.  I could not find much review on it other than like PC Mag.  I would like some feedback from the PC community.  Some of my concerns are...

1. The Spacebar:  I have always wanted a split spacebar.  However, my sweet spot where I engage the key is exactly between the second and third bar.  I can't be the only person who does this, but I only use my right hand.  Has this been a problem for anyone else?

2. Keycaps- they are PBT; but are they satisfactory, comfortable, usable?  Also, if I should decide to replace them, are there a lot of sets that include space bars that will fit?  I can't imagine there are.  I guess you would need to use one 7.25u spacebar?  It looks like a standard Poker layout except for the spacebar.

3. Are you able to use the CAPS LOCK key as FN key?  This is huge for me, which is one of the reasons I keep going back to Poker3, or at least using the PCB.

4. Continued from no. 3:  Does the case/PCB have a standard layout for the screw holes.  If I do decide to replace the PCB so I can remap key where I would like them, is  Poker 3 going to fit in the case?

The bars look a little weird, not like standard ansi split which is 2.25,1.25,2.75 or flipped around, doesn’t look most comfortable.

They’re probably alright, looks to be same rando lasered pbt, would not expect much. Also wouldn’t bet on finding aftermarket caps due to the aforementioned space bar size.

Doesn’t look the most complex, but if it has any kind of programmability like qmk it’s possible. Not sure if that’s the case though.

You can see some screws near the bottom row, could try and see if it matches a standard poker. Except the plate looks to be integrated so I don’t think they intend for you to swap the build out really.

Screw holes are definitely not standard.  Well, looks like it may be easiest to use another Poker3, since I can build the board with everything I want.
