I miss playing the Ramones "Rocket to Russia" LP. I would play it on very low volume so my parents wouldn't hear it. I was far too young to understand any of the lyrics but I pretended it was devil music, and therefore forbidden.
I had that one. I had the Ramones' first five albums on vinyl, along with about 300 other vinyl LPs and probably 50-75 45rpm singles (most with picture covers!) that I gleefully gave away when I last moved just so I didn't have to lug them halfway across the country
again.
I don't miss'em at all, either. I was happy as a clam to go to CD. I was an early CD adopter: I bought the first CD player I found that was under $1000 - the Yamaha CD-X1 - while I was overseas in 1983 and after that I'd buy everything on CD unless it wasn't available.
As soon as big-ass hard drives became reasonable and processor speeds became viable, I ripped all my CDs (500+, I think) and now I play music off my computer, or on devices the size of a Zippo lighter, or my phone.
