G500 and Deathadders
« on: Mon, 14 February 2011, 19:02:39 »
I already have a G500 but I may use the coupon codes to get a black Deathadder for $50.  What I am wondering is that is it worth it?  I like my G500 but everyone really seems to just LOVE the Deatadder, but there are still people who prefer the G500 or something like it.  I just dont know what to try.

I've had the G500, and while I liked it a lot, the Mamba (same body style) just feels like a better 'gaming' mouse. I liked the ergonomics a lot on this mouse when I first got it...but a year later, it's starting to feel like it's too small (I've only been using it frequently since December).

I'm personally looking at the Mionix 3200 for my big hands. It looks good. If you don't have large hands or don't game for hours and hours a day, the Deathadder is a great mouse.

+1 for Deathadder

okay, I've had both G500 and DA for a long time, here is what it comes down to:

1. shape. I've found the G500 to be a little more comfortable in my hands, better contour for my ring finger/pinkie part, go to your local bestbuy and try for yourself. To me, the shape and size of a mouse is everything, who gives a **** about what kinda sensor does it use afterall?

2. Mousepad. The deathadder has very small mouse feet, as a result, it might scrape against some softer cloth pads, in my case it was the Qck+ and Qck mass, resulting excessive, unwanted friction. (think about sticking your fingernail into the soft texture of the pad and drag it along) It may sound like a big problem but after you try the DA on a metal pad you'll know what I'm talking about, it absolutely flies on my old SX. The G500 has bigger mouse feet and therefore doesn't suffer from this problem.

hope it helps.

thanks, i am going to go to best buy tomorrow and try one out to see how it feels and then i will decide whether or not i will buy the black one.  It would be really nice if they sold one at the best buy so that i do not have to wait for Razer to ship mine to me   :P
