Lan station desks
« on: Mon, 14 February 2011, 07:49:34 »
Does anyone have any experience with this type of computer desk?

http://formaspace.com/computer_workstations.php

I really like the top shelves for printers and books along with the bar for hanging monitors off of, clearing up a lot of desk space for papers, notes etc.

I'm interested in getting some sort of desk like this, but I'm concerned with leg room, weight (for shipping, and not destroying my floor), not to mention availability; Any known european/scandinavian outlets for this kind of stuff?

That's not bad but it looks expensive to me. I just use 3 cheap desks in a room with 3 PC's for my LAN room. I like for everyone to have more room and not be sitting right next to each other.

Get three of these, put the pc's on top of the desk to act as blinders, and stick the three desks along one wall. Instant lan station for cheap.

I did this with a friend of mine, but with this desk and the slightly longer version. Works great! Plus, seeing as you're in Europe/Scandinavia, you should have a very easy time finding an Ikea.

Thanks for your input but, to be clear, I'm not looking for desks for hosting lan parties.

The lan station is a particular brand or type of desk/workbench, and it pretty much looks like the perfect computer desk because it's got good use of vertical space. I kinda want to get one, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with that kind of desk.
