Gingher's been making quality scissors for generations, my great grandmother gave me a pair that she had been using all her life as a professional tailor/seamstress.

Don't cut through pennies with these.

Fiskars are my preferred scissor for paper crafting.  They are affordable, yet excellent quality, so you could get her a couple of different styles.    They have a micro-tip scissor which is excellent for detailed paper crafting.  The micro-tip soft touch is a spring-loaded scissor.  Fiskars has a great warranty so if the spring wears out they'll send you a new one.  I've had excellent experiences with their customer service.  You can also get a non-stick scissor which is fantastic if you're cutting through adhesives.

Ginghers are best for fabric, if she's into quilting or sewing.

Thanks for the great information, Mrs. iMav! She does both fabric and crafts, so I don't think it'll be a problem getting more than one.

You can get her a chain saw. Those  can cut just about anything.

Even better-an electric chain saw! That way she can use it in the house without posing a safety hazard.

Good buy on the Fiskars. I thought you locked this thread but I already saw Fiskars mentioned. Mine (not quite the exact same model) stays fairly sharp and I haven't used the included cheap (double ceramic rod) sharpener much.
