My friends want to see me drunk so bad.

Actually, I probably look a lot different than what you and others think.

Not at all like this:

Everyone well knew what I was referring to. If I was referring to 3.0" floppy disks, I would have made an effort to emphasize that fact.
And those are Roland disks, obviously my PC 300 doesn't have a 3.0" floppy drive.

I use a 128 Verbatim jump drive for school work. Nothing wrong with that. A 64 MB stick is actually a lot of memory.

Generally buying 3" floppy disks is a pain. New ones are made cheaply anyhow, bit rot galore.
If you want to keep something, you'll do so. Space is never the issue, it's personal choice.

With that said I do have 5" floppy disks, low density ones too.
But I'm not trying to be retro-cool (all of this old computer stuff I just randomly inherited from various places: in fact, I only really bought my modern computer equipment, with the exception of my dear 6562).

I have 5.25" floppy disks as well. I like them because they take up much less space than the 3.5" ones, and hold almost as much information.

Ok, that's crazy. Never seen a 3" disk and didn't know Nintendo ever got involved in anything that had to do with floppies. Double awesome.

This thing, apparently.

Yes... I meant 3.5, I was too lazy to put the .5 because I thought people wouldn't make a FUSS about it and KNOW I was referring to 3.5.

That's one set I don't have yet, I have like three sets of windows 3.1 installation floppies.

I find the stuff kind of fascinating, and, I enjoy having it around. I don't see a point of throwing it away. It's like a little bit of history. Plus I actually use them for driver disks. If you have old computers, it's imperative to have floppies around.

I have a complete set of Windows 95 upgrade floppies, but I don't have the disks for a clean installation. But that's OK though since I can just install Windows for Workgroups and then upgrade.

Oh, and here's something I bet you want:

I remember downloading Slackware Linux from a local BBS and having to install it from floppies. Was something like 15ish 3.5" floppies. I think I still have a few around somewhere.

When you're talking about presents and 3", it's kinda not obvious at all that you meant the regular 3.5" ones. Or you didn't know that 3" exist and are very rare? I have friends that spent fortune on 3" drives and diskettes.

I remember doing that as well.  Repartitioned my whopping 80MB hard drive to make room for it.  Although, I think I found the disk images with Archie.  (I was still running my own BBS at the time too)

Moved to Redhat v. 3.0.3.  It used to take me two and a half days to compile the kernel.  :) (mainly because I had a very limited amount of ram)

A pair of JBL L100T3's Mint in original boxes from when IBM used to make their own Model M's.  :)

I actually got them for myself just before Christmas.  That's why I haven't been posting as much lately, I've been monkeying around with vintage stereo stuff in my free time.  Cranking good music has never been so fun!

Fav thing I opened Christmas day was Nanodots!

Vintage or not audio will be a MUCH more expensive hobby than keyboards.

True. You can get by with a relatively modest amount if you know exactly what you want and need though. I ultimately spent a lot more on music than on the hardware.

A larger part of the fun with vintage audio tends to be in the restorative work involved. Nothing like having them oldies play and look like new.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

I got a pair of Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10's last year and it has spoiled my ears compared to what I had tried previously.  Now I've been getting into home audio stuff since LCD TV's have come down enough in price to warrant consideration of setting up a good home theater.  But first I'm setting up a good home stereo system.

My favourite this year has to be a novelty mug that holds >1.5 pints (UK). Sadly I'll actually use it to hold stupid amounts of coffee, like I am now.

Other than that, clothes, Smellies, and lots of shiny things to clip on ropes.

So I got a copy of Starcraft II, a wine bottle holder shaped like the GEICO gecko, some Hanes socks, and a 2011 BMW 328i.  I think out of the four, I like Starcraft II the most.  But the GEICO gecko is a close second.

I have lots of of other crazy old software on floppies and lots of CAD software from the late 1980's to the mid 1990's as well.

Some of the floppies I had weren't well-cared for though and did not work. But my old Gateway2000 OEM Windows disks lasted a long time.

Most of the things I've made is with 216, it's a mathematically good number to use.  But having 2 sets has been really fun.  I'd like to get 4 sets at some point for some of the bigger creations.  This for example took 660 which is nearly 4 sets to make.

I got a Camera and a Sony eBook reader. I'm digging the eBook reader - I've been wanting to try one for awhile.

This Christmas was very light on the presents. I love it that way. The fuss of finding gifts for people always dragged down the holiday for me in the past.

I actually have two microsoft font pack disks. Was going to try them out for fonts (as I like having a decent amount of fonts)... but haven't got around to it... I thought they were broken, but my floppy drive was having a conflict with my USB jumpdrive, ugh. Fandangled new contraptions...
