Going Mechanical
« on: Fri, 31 December 2010, 07:33:19 »
I'v been using my Logitech G15 for quite some time now and it's time to get a new keyboard. I'v been searching for a keyboard that would suit me the best and after reading some stuff on Steelseries 7G(and remembering how nice it felt typing on a mechanical keyboard when I was like 6 years old) I found out about this awesome site which I have to say helped me A LOT coming close to a desicion.

I'm a gamer, playing a lot of FPS and MMO's(World of Warcraft to be exact) and I'm also studying Computer Science so I want a keyboard that is good for games but is also comfortable when typing. I dont need any extra macro keys(my current keyboard has 18x3=54 extra macro keys and I never had to use any, plus they are really uncomfortable to use while playing). Extra Media Keys(like the G15 ones) would be a great addition but it would be fine not having any. As for Backlit, even though it doesent really help I would really like having some.Full NKRO support is not needed since I cant understand the use of it in anyone's hands, so the 6 keys support through USB would be enough.

After thinking a lot of which key type I should get, I'v come down to the conclusion that Cherry MX blue would  be the best for me, since I dont mind the noise and I like putting pressure when I click. I am thinking of getting Xarmor(I'm not sure how good Blackwidow would turn out being since despite the good reviews I'v seen here, I heard some bad bad comments about razer keyboards in general(unlike their mouses that own)).

I'd like to see if you guys have any other suggestions for me(Keep in mind I wouldent wanna spend more than 150 euros), including which Online store I should use cos I live in Greece and Xarmor's official site doesen't ship here.

I know the number of this type of threads is getting ridiculously high but oh well we all got different needs

Thanks in Advance and sorry for any bad use of english
