first mechanical keyboard for fps gaming

hi

anyone can suggest me a decent mechanical keyboard for gaming

this will be my first mech keyboard

i ve been reading on main topic

according to this,

brown mx is between typing and gaming

blue mx might get some double taping issues which i would avoid from it

black is pretty good for fps but some people dislike it for typing

my question is do i begin with a brown mx?

finally i found these 3 keyboards interesting

razer blackwidow (but blue mx and that i dislike that gaming uber look)

zowie celeritas brown mx

filco majestouch brown mx, blue mx, black mx

I've only used blues and browns, and I prefer the browns both for gaming and typing, but it's very much a preference thing.  The two switches are extremely similar feeling to me, and I made my choice to get browns moreso because of the extra little clicking noise in blues which annnoys me (and which some people love, including my friend who has a board with blues).  

I will say that the great thing about the Razer BlackWidow is the availability and price of it.  To me it seems like it's one of the best budget mechanical keyboard options, on top of being able to go down to a store and pick it up or order it from amazon with 2 day shipping (if you have prime).

It was me, I'd get a numpadless board with browns (filco tenkeyless is a good option) because I prefer the look and like having my mouse closer to the keyboard.  I would have gotten a BlackWidow and lived with sound of the blues if I didn't greatly prefer not having a numpad, so obviously a lot of this is down to preference and what's going to work for you.

i m from france, there are not many mech keyboards
for not saying nothing
the only gaming brands such as razer, steelseries keep buying it
unfortunetaly 7G or 6GV2 are based on black switch
i ve heard that it wasnt good for typing
it may also hurt fingers after typing for a while
and BW is going to release their ultimate version in azerty within 2 months (incredible i cant imagine that, france market doesnt count much to them)

This is my thinking as well. After research and testing I found that for gaming, tenkeyless produces a better posture without moving from wasd, which is a pretty big feature for me. Also, response in gaming seemed to improve using cherry browns. It just felt right.

Razer obviously only had a few parts where they input design into the board. The board itself... being one. The rest was soldering somebody else's switches onto the board. Of all the things razer could screw up it was the one thing they did. Not sure a gaming keyboard doesn't offer nkey over ps2 or 6key over usb... or how such a device made it to market without synapse... it should have programmed the keys at the hardware level.

Brown is always the safest place to start.

I gotta do a wiki on this double tapping hysterisis hysteria thing sometime.  At OCN it's soooooooooo confusing.

I personally found that resistance is too high, and the keys just don't quite do it for me. Not sure how to explain it, but I'm a pretty firm believer that blue just isn't that great for gaming. It is seriously a typists switch. Also, I never could quite figure out what's actually wrong with the switch for gaming other than the fact that better is available. After trying the browns, blues won't do.

mechanical keyboard has a cost here
for exemple i need to pay about 150 euros for a filco
from europe and especially from france, they never apply the exchanges rates between dollars and euros
if you pay 100$ we ll pay 100 euros (instead of 77 euros)

But at least I can feel the tactile point-something I can't say for the Browns at all, which might as well be linear (and I don't like linear switches, even for gaming).

The Clears are the sweet spot for me, but too rare and expensive. Other than buying a tactile Deck Legend, the only way I know of to get a board with Clears is to swap the switches with an existing MX board. Also, some may not like the stiffer spring resistance (it's close to, but not quite, the Blacks), but that may very well be the key to having an actual, noticeable tactile point with none of the noise.

theres a few other random old cherrys i found that had it as well on taobao but I dont think a tenkeyless cherry exists.

I found it difficult to drop $80 on another keyboard when my Model M 1391401 cost me less than half that shipped. That kit board isn't just expensive, it's in Topre territory!

But I'll keep your G80-3000 tip in mind. If I can get one with Clears, then I'll also pick up DSI's numpad module and start hand-swapping switches between the boards, then resell the G80 as an MX Blue board. (Assuming that it costs less this way than buying Clears in bulk, of course.)
