The Geekhack challenge
« on: Thu, 17 February 2011, 20:08:32 »
I've recently purchased Geekbench after reading this thread http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=4545.

There hasn't been much activity there recently so I thought, just for a bit of fun, instead of just accumulaing peoples scores we could have a bit of a contest. No prize (sorry:sad:). Just bragging rights.

My challenge is to all the geekhackers and overclockers (must be some on a forum of this nature) out there to try beat these scores.

If you could please include the following: Geekhack version, Window/MAC/Unix, 32bit/64bit, your score AND a link to your score.

Also it would be nice if people could stick to results from stable systems but policing this would be too much of a task. At the end of the day its just for fun so its up to you if you do or don't. I suppose you could still post your results if you wanted but just let us know if it isn't stable or hasn't been tetsted. Would still be interesting to see what people can get.

Geekhack version 2.1.12
Windows 32bit MY SCORE 9777
Windows 64bit MY SCORE 11153

Geekhack version 2.2 beta
Windows 32bit MY SCORE 11017
Windows 64bit MY SCORE 13696

All scores are from the same computer with the same overclock. I only tried the beta because version 2.1.12 has a slight compatabilty issues with certain windows and intel setups. One issue you may notice is that version 2.1.12 displays the Ghz @2.67Ghz when it is infact @4Ghz.

Challenge can be accepted with either version and with 32bit or 64bit. 32bit version is free to try from HERE if you dont already have it.

NOTE: My 2.2 beta scores do not dispaly my profile name. This is because there seems to be some issues with the beta and will not work properly from its executeable file on my computer. My results were obtained by running the program from the command line and then uploaded from there. Unfortunately doing it this way only uploads it to the geekhack results browser and not to my account. Authenticity can proven if required.

I will do my best to keep this post up to date with current leaders and there score.

Good luck, have fun and let battle commence.

Im quite new to it all really but those sandy bridge cpu's are one nice piece of kit.

Im waiting on to see what intel has in store (if anything) for the 1366 socket. Hopefully some 8 core monsters.

Anyways I'm off to bed now. Why I stay up this late making stupid threads I'll never know.

EDIT: Ha. stock 2600k nearly beats mine oveclocked to 4Ghz. I want one.
