Defective Filco? Non-functioning keys.
« on: Fri, 25 February 2011, 19:09:21 »
I just received my Filco FKB104M/CB from armygroup and it seems that the home, end, left arrow, and up arrow are not functioning. Is this a common issue and is there a simple fix or am I SOL and have to ship this back to Taiwan?

Thanks for any input.

Welcome to GeekHack...sorry to hear about that. I've never used ArmyGroup but I think that's the first major issue I've heard about them. Hope you can get it resolved.

before calling PEBKAC, i'd suggest trying it on a different PC first.

Not sure how PEBKAC comes into play for a USB keyboard. Anywho, yes, I have tried it on another PC with the same result.

Looks like a whole matrix column may be nonfunctional here, or a longer run of trace at least. Smells like a bad solder joint or somesuch.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D
