All for sale, make offer on anything. Most keyboards have been cleaned by me; not anal-retentively but clean enough that you could use without embarassment. The only exception is the Compaq board which I didn't touch, but it wasn't all that grungy to begin with. I haven't opened the switches on any of them, but they all feel acceptable (or in the case of a few - guess which ones - at least consistent with online descriptions of their feel.) All test well to the best of my ability - my PS/2 to USB converter has some odd behavior with the Pause/Break key on all boards, and card readers and ports for barcode scanners are not guaranteed to work.
- Dell AT101W - fairly worn and yellowed. Alps blacks. Oddly, the F and J keys are less aged than the rest of the board. $20 shipped.
*SOLD* - Dell QuietKey RT7D5JTW. Rubber dome, but some say that this is as good as RDs get. (maybe so, but I like my Cherry clears better.) NOS, have original box, used for a few minutes.
- Apple Extended Keyboard II. Alps damped whites. Case a little yellowed, as is space bar. Rest of it looks pretty darn good. $30 shipped. Will throw in iMate for another $30.
*SOLD* - Compaq MX11800 G80-11802LPAUS/01. Cherry browns. trackball works. Some keys have o-rings on them, some have EKB black dampers on them. Decided that I still liked undamped clears better.
*SOLD* - Cherry MY7000 G81-7000LPLUS/00. Cherry MY switches. A little worn and beat but it does have both a card reader and several ports, which I assume are for barcode scanners. Bought a lot of two of these for next to nothing and after I'd taken what I wanted (some keys) I put the pieces together to make one functional board. Not sure why I did that, but if you buy anything and want me to throw this in the box I will. Missing the "PgUp" and "Menu" keycaps - I put a relegendable cap w/ printed insert in place of PgUp and a "Ctrl" key in place of menu just to make it usable.
- Cherry MX8000 G80-8200LPBUS/09. Cherry brown switches. Bought this from "rawko" after getting the same board with Cherry clears previously, not realizing that he had more with clears (I guess I should have asked. That'll learn me.) This is a POS board with a card reader, but is a pretty awesome cheap board. I'm using the one with clears at work and love it. It's also NKRO for you gamer types and has some programmable and relegendable keys. Only downside that I've found is that the switches *are* PCB mounted not plate mounted so if you have a heavy touch, you will notice a little bit of flex. If you want a cheap keyboard and like browns, I *highly* recommend this board.
*PENDING* - SIIG JK-US0112-S1 JK-US0112-S1 "USB Desktop Keyboard with Mechanical Key Switches" - Alps whites. I actually bought this one new after being disgusted with the cheap keyboard that came with a PC that I bought. Was the only keyboard for sale at Micro Center that appeared in any way acceptable, but after using it for a while I started looking online to see if one could still buy the keyboard that I really missed, the Model M - so I bought one. Three, actually. Haven't used this one since. (so I guess you could say that this board is responsible for my current keyboard geekery.)
- Just added - remains of a Cherry MX-8100 POS board. G80-8113LRCUS/02. I've already taken all the key caps, stems, springs, and tops of the switches. If you want what's left (trackpad?) it's free with anything else above. Case has been painted (before I got it.) Assume that this is a "rawko" board that another GHer picked up before trading it to me. Could make a good switch try board, if you have stems etc. and want something easy to swap on? (PCB mounted switches.) Main reason I don't want it for that purpose is that the touchpad takes the place of the arrow keys and the nav cluster is moved as well, which drives me to drink (I much prefer the MX-8000 which is the same board w/o the touchpad and pretty much everything where it's supposed to be.)
Make an offer on any or all of these - I am not looking to make a lot of money on this exercise. I just decided that it was time to sample all that the world of mechanical keyboards had to offer and all I knew going in was that I liked "tactile" switches, but needed something that typed quietly so I could use it at work. I've found that (the MX8000 w/ clears) so it's time to clean out the basement. If you find yourself in the same boat, make me an offer on the whole lot, and try 'em all!
I'm in northern VA, so these are probably only worth your while if you're in the CONUS or really, really want one of these boards otherwise shipping might be silly.
edit: forgot to add, I'm also open to trades - anything obviously tempting like a Filco or Leopold would be good, or anything with clear switches (or just a bagful of clear stems and springs.)
thanks for reading...
