Reveal Eronomic White Alps
« on: Tue, 14 December 2010, 22:17:55 »

This is a Reveal KB-7061 ergonomic mechanical keyboard.

It uses white Alps switches (original complicated, clicky, non-dampened) and has doubleshot (two piece molded plastic) keycaps.

Keyboard dates from the mid-90s and is in good shape and fairly clean. It is tested as fully working. Note that it uses an AT connector, so you will need an AT->PS/2 adapter (these can be found on eBay for <$5).

I'll be willing to let it go for $95 shipped CONUS.

I really doubt that a hardcore gamer is going to be interested in an angled, ergonomic keyboard, especially if it isn't covered with lights.
Notable Switches I have tried:
black cherry, blue cherry, brown cherry, clear cherry, cherry M84, white alps, black alps, cream alps, Monterey blue alps, Fujitsu Peerless, Gateway2000 rubber dome, Keytronic rubber dome, Model M buckling spring, Model F buckling spring, futaba, black space invader

Awesome, but since I'm not a big fan of ALPs, $100 is too much for me.

ALWAYS looking for cool and interesting switches
I take requests for making keyboard converters (i.e. *old keyboard* to USB).

TBH, I'd be *highly* interested in >2-3key mechanical ergo, personally. And while I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer, I have some accounts that would beg to differ =X

For me the problem is I don't think I personally want white alps, even if it were Nkey, but for a good mechanical ergo keyboard it could definitely be a good deal, even without Nkey. I don't know enough about the Reveal to really comment there, though =/ Ergos can be lifesavers if you're dealing with any form of RSI, they're easily worth paying more for.

How about connecting to USB? I have had bad experiences connecting PS/2 to USB (as in it doesn't always work).

Thanks, ripster, found it here:

How are these white Alps switches? I was especially looking for Cherry browns due to the 35 gram weight: I press lightly and often miss keystrokes. I've even had to cut the silicon domes of my MS Natural keyboard to make the keypresses lighter! Are the Alps so light like the Cherry browns?

Ouch! I would have to stack half a dozen nickels on each key to be able to press those! Oh well, thanks for the advice, now I know to narrow my search even further....
