I found a BTC-5339
« on: Sun, 01 May 2011, 19:00:50 »
I had this keyboard when I was a kid on a 286 and I found it at my mom's house today. It have double shot key caps and it looks like they could fit cherry switches. Anyone know more about this keyboard and the kind of switches that is in there?

Some crappy cellphone pics.

I think BTC did their own capacitive mechanism that far back.  Or possibly foam-and-foil.

I received some clear cherry mx switches today and my BTC keyboard keycaps are compatible. I now have some doubleshot keycaps for my project!

WHAT!? Double-shots on your BTC-5339? Both of mine have pad-printed keys.

The switch type is foam element + capacitive, though it appears that the springs provide most of the "feel"...way too linear for my taste. On the other hand, they're guaranteed NKRO.

Have you figured out what that MACRO key does yet?

Yeah  you should have seen my face when I pop a keycap the other day.  I'm not a fan of the switches because as you said they feel way to linear for may taste too. The macro key remains a mystery to this day....
