Lego keycaps why not ;-)
« on: Mon, 23 May 2011, 05:04:11 »
Hi,

I noticed that some of you guys love legos (me2). I was wondering how possible is to make this kind of keycaps http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/05/lego-keycaps-for-laptops/ :drum:. Maybe this could be an option for coming group buys ?

You might be able to stick regular Legos on a cherry board. The 2x2 blocks would be about the right size, don't know if the stem would fit in the little cylinder on the bottom though.

They don't.

Looks like somebody tried to do that already. It would be nice if they have PBT Lego keycaps.

Wouldn't use them myself, but would buy a few for my dad. He loves LEGO and thinks it should be mandatory for all children.
Even now he buys me massive LEGO sets for Christmas as an excuse to sit up all night building it because he knows I'm not going to build it on my own.

Pretty much, yes. Not that I mind, the massive LEGO Technic sets are fun.

Those keys are in fact stickers which sit atop your MacBook keycaps
they are simple stickers, no 3d texture...

what would be cool, is to have a LEGO look like case for the keyboard with regular keycaps :) that sounds really nice to me!
