I'm going to buy the SteelSeries' 7G keyboard, which has black switches, but for frequent and quick tapping, I would want some lighter switches on certain keys, such as Shift, Control, Alt and Space.

For example: in Counter-Strike, you must tap the crouch key twice extremely fast to double duck, or many times in a specific rythm to ground strafe.

However, I can't decide wether I should go for red, brown or blue switches.
My question is, what switches would you prefer as the most suitable Cherry MX switch for fast tapping, and if you don't mind, why?

You can make almost identical Cherry MX Red switches by placing a spring from a blue or brown into a black housing.

"Interesting combinations:
Brown or Blue spring + Black stem = Very close, if not identical, to a Red switch. (Nickname: 'Ghetto Red')."

That are capacitive. Putting them on the same board in those locations is absolutely impossible.

Now, you could try to rig up something where you cut out those spots and make a second "keyboard" on the inside that all use topre insides, but that's so completely insane that nobody would do it.

So yeah. Impossible.

I got a Blue MX keyboard, so I guess I'll just have to try it out myself.

I know a bit about how to solder, though with my fingers living their own lives and suddenly decides to get impatience, it might get messy.
