2nd Keyboard! (from Leopold tenkeyless browns)
« on: Fri, 17 June 2011, 11:49:22 »
Hi guys,

I'm really considering purchasing a Topre RealForce 103UB w/ 55g switches... As much as I love the compact size of the Leopold FC200R - my status as a business student really comes back to bite me when I realize I don't have a numpad to speed up numeric entry.

I like the MX Browns but I do have a few comments:

I don't really feel that tactile bump, the key travel to bottoming out is "deep", and sometimes the switches feel a tiny bit light (though this really just depends).

With that being said, how does a 55g Topre-weighted keyboard compare to one with all MX Browns? I haven't had the privelege of ever trying out the Topre switches (I've only tried IBM Buckling springs, ALPS from my Apple Extended Keyboard II, and MX Blues, Reds, and Browns). My friends tell me that the 55g is ridiculously heavy and I have to "think" about pressing the key down. What do you guys think?

Best,
David
