Modding old cherry keycaps
« on: Fri, 24 June 2011, 07:22:26 »
Hi

So i bought that keyboard
[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 19572

in order to get some nice ols cherry keycaps, but unfortunately the keycaps for this switche (old cherry one) [ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 19573 does not fit on new cherry stems.

Another pics with the keycaps bottom up [ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 19571

Does someone did mod that kind of keycaps ?
the new stem sems thicker and larger...

Thanks

Do you know that those are fairly collectible machines? They are one of the first laptop computers ever made. You might not want to go permanently modifying anything. As they are 'worth' $300 at least on the collectors market.

i know :-)

The price is not so high though...
bought it for some 50 euros (75$?)
not so cheap

this is why i still hesitate to mod them, or i can modify the stems ...
