Mechanical Keyboard with a Spanish Layout
« on: Tue, 28 June 2011, 06:34:57 »
Hi to everybody!

Lately I've been thinking on purchasing a mechanical keyboard and after reading a lot about it I've made my decition.  I would like to purchase a Filco majestouch Ninja (I think that tenkyless will be better) with cherry browns or a Ducky 9008 G2 year of tiger edition with cherry browns too.

The basic problem is that I'm from Spain and I can't find any of them with a Spanish layout. Do they exist in Spanish layout? Where can I buy them? (I've mailed to http://www.keyboardco.com asking about my problem and they don't have any of them nor a solution).

I've been thinking too on purchasing a US layout keyboard and a Keycap replacement with a spanish layout (black PBT keys with Dye Sublimation letters would be great XD ) as a last option but I can't find where to buy the keycaps...

Any help will be real welcomed :D

Thanks in advance

You could buy an UK keyboard, which unlike the US one very good and intuitive to write national characters.

or

You can buy an UK or any other ISO layout and then use the stickers from 4keyboards, latkey to mate it dual language or just Spanish, depending on the stickers used.

or you can look at the classified section for group buy of the Spanish is keycaps.

I'm in italy, and I have the same problem. BTW I went for UK layout after I've discovered how handy is the UK layout.

(really not the layout per se, but how works the the UK extended logical layout, in windows linux and so on)

Group buy? I've found this thread http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?13664-Double-shot-replacements-ROUND-THREE-Vote-for-Kits-amp-Quantities!&highlight=spanish that directs you to http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?11998-104-US-ANSI-Double-shot-replacements-for-Filco-Order but I dont get how to specify the color scheme, layout (Spanish) and which type of material the order will be.

Someone who have purchased the double shot replacement keycaps could specify me his order (in order I can understand how to do my own order) and maybe a picture of the recieved shipment?

Stickers could be a solution but the last one. I can think on purchasing a hight quality keyboard and material keycaps to put a sticker on them XD

I never bought something so, better to wait a reply from a more skilled user in this area, or ask in those threads

Obviously the last option, but the stickers (at least the one from 4keyboards, i tried) are really good, they are with a nice matte finish, they are tiny, durable and cheap I (paid a set something like 3$ shipped from the ebay shop)

So they could a worth solution, at least a temporary one.
