AT102W: G and H keys playing up!
« on: Fri, 09 March 2012, 17:13:05 »
Hello

I've got a Dell AT102W with black ALPS. Recently, after a disconnection for a few days, I reconnect my keyboard to find that on most occasions, the G and H keys require a few presses for them to register. Once it's started however, it's okay for a few seconds, and then after that I will have to mash again. Anyone know what te issue could be?

Thanks.

I don't know ... I had a key on my blue ALPS take a few presses to start working the other day. First time I've had any key on it play up.

The good thing is that complicated ALPS switches are really easy to dismantle, so long as you have two absurdly thin screwdrivers. The only way I can get a switch back together though is by placing the click/tactile leaf, slider and coil spring into the upper switch case and then pushing it upwards into an upside down keyboard. Takes a couple of attempts to get the switch back together but it's not too hard.
