Is this a Model M?
« on: Tue, 11 October 2011, 08:40:23 »
Hi. Was wondering if you could help me out a little.

From what I've seen, normally the stickers on the back of Model M:s look something like this

However, a guy who says he's selling a Model M provided this image of the back. The P/N number seems to start with " CWA- " which isn't in any Model M P/N as far as I know. It SEEMS to be saying "Made in Thailand". Could this still be a real Model M or is it some kind of knockoff?

No. This isn't an IBM board, it looks like it might be a NMB RT-101

Actually, it's an RT-102, but yes, NMB and not IBM.

Ok, I guess it's not as good as an IBM. Thanks.

It does appear to have ALPS switches, which you may prefer to IBM's buckling springs.
