It is like a thing that you use instead of a mouse on a laptop.
On that model it is utter crap. The DPI is way way to low to make it productive.

The keyboard is good, it it what is on my g/fs desk atm. But she has a 1440x900 monitor and with all the mouse settings to the highest in gnome, a swipe from one edge to the other will get you half way across the screen. With a filco trackpad I can get across two 1680x1050 monitors with one swipe.

I am using a G80-11900 daily and agree on the two swipes under Linux (Ubuntu here) to get from one end of a 720p screen to the other. This is not an issue for me and the supposedly low DPI is actually helpful when doing graphics editing which I do with the touchpad as well.

There is one thing I noticed however: One time it seemed to me as if the physical buttons of the touchpad got stuck, as if something has come between the plastic of the buttons and the microswitches. This only happened once and the issue has not resurfaced yet. I cannot recall though how I solved this, probably shook the keyboard and that was it.

Anyway, overall very happy, I actually like the MX black switches and it's at the moment my preferred keyboard. So yeah, biased.

Yeah, the trackpads aren't great. Average at best.
I greatly prefer the logitech optical trackball on the MX11800.
keyboards!
