Interest Check: Custom Keycap Consignment/Sale Website
« on: Mon, 05 December 2011, 13:21:45 »
So I've been thinking of a way to unify the varoius group buys and keycaps available for sale on GH and I came up with an interesting idea. What if I was to make a website where people could place orders for group buys similar to how everyone buys things off of other websites. Amazon doesn't charge your card until the order is "ready to ship," so I could easily collect orders and then charge you the price when it hits a certain number of orders or a time limit is reached, just like on here. In addition I was thinking of adding an etsy-esque consignment area where people could register and sell keyboards and keycaps on consignment at really reasonable rates. I just typed this outt on my phone so I've plenty more to add, but that's the gist of it. What does everyone think? Would it be too high profile for some of the more questtionable keycaps?

Too high profile imo. Did you see this in the discussion we had over paypal being a massive ****?

I don't think it's worth it. You need to implement a lot of stuff for this to work. I would attempt making it if I had better knowledge of web design and had time. = (.

Not saying it's a bad idea. I just don't think it would be worth it. Considering the way things work now seems to be fine.

GLWIC.

In the meantime I've got a sticky in my subforum.

How do I force capitalization on acronymns in Vbulletin?

Pretty sure as long as it isn't 100% capslock'd, you're fine.

For example:
GLWIC LOL OM NOM NOMa
