I need keyboard suggestions QUICK!

They need to already be released in the US, gaming, mechanical, red (preferably) switches. This is a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Other keyboards have fallen through and I'm panicking. Help please.

Well... Hmm... not specifically gaming although what that's supposed to mean is beyond me...

Rosewill

WASD keyboards just said that their Cherry Red boards are nearly ready for sale, just waiting for the keycaps to come in...maybe PM/ring them and see if you could get a rush order early next week?

What is it about the red switch that they would need to wait for keycaps? Or are they all out of keycaps??

For the OP's question, I would say Rosewill is a great choice.

Maybe it's because the new boards they're getting in are a different layout. It's the only thing I can think of.

I would think that because WASD customizes all their keycaps that they are buying boards without caps.  The wait is then likely for the keycap distro to send the shipment.

Okay, can someone please advise me on what exactly constitutes a "gaming keyboard?"  I've seen regular keyboards with some sharp designs thrown on them and called a "gaming keyboard."

Do they mean it has extra programmable keys and slopware to stack on your already spyware laden PC?  Because I've seen "gaming keyboards" without those and regular keyboards with them.

Do they mean it has a USB hub?  Same story as above for the most part.

Backlighting?  Same story.

"Gaming keyboard" means nothing when you're asking for a keyboard recommendation.

I think what a person means by saying they want a "gaming keyboard" is they are looking for a keyboard with sharp / deepish plastic lines on the edges and bezel of the thing and as much logo feces attached as possible.

I think the other things such as "USB hubs," "audio extension capability," and software programmable keys should be addressed individually.

Now that I'm done *****ing, I'm going to help out, mechanical "gaming" keyboard:

The reason I like this is it has a lot less logo feces compared to other boards.

WASD announced that his red boards are now in stock.  With a little effort you could get your face lasered onto one (or more) of the keycaps.
