Any recommendations on a new keyboard?
« on: Mon, 02 January 2012, 15:47:36 »
So I bought a Ducky 1087XM with green alps, just wanted to try a mechanical keyboard cheaply, and wanted something that provides a nice audio feedback, its a bit quieter than I expected, and it takes quite a bit of force to actuate, Im not sure what I should try next Ive been looking at Blue, Browns and Reds, leaning towards blues but Im not sure which one I want, I do a lot of typing and games any recommendations?  I was thinking either a Filco Majetouch or a Rosewill RK-9000 myself but what do you experts think?

~2 people ask this question every day.
(No hate, I did...)

But yea, go with a Rosewill or Filco, both have good quality and from what Ive heard there pretty much even.
Switches tried so far
Cherry MX Red Blue Black Clear
ALPS White Black (fake)Blue
Montereys
ACER
White Black
Futaba
Buckling Sprin

People need more information before they can really suggest keyboards for you.

-where do you live?

-what is your price range?

-what type of layout do you want/need?
Unicomp Space Saver (buckling spring) Silicon Graphics (dampened cream alps) KBC Poker (ghetto reds)

none of them are going to be louder. read the wiki to learn more about the individual switches http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=START+HERE+--+The+Geekhack+Mechanical+Keyboard+Guide+-+Includes+Glossary+and+Links
