It certainly looks in good shape but there's no way I would pay the buy it now price. It's not a particularly rare model. Also, despite the fact that it's in its original box, I don't believe it's completely unused. There's dirt on the rubber feet which looks suspicious to me.

I seem to remember someone here buying one of these supposedly nib for like $400.

Looks like it's been relisted. 26 page views so far. He should drop the price a little.

I re-read the old thread where one sold for $385, but it wasn't the GH'er who bought it. She just jumped into the thread and discussed her purchase of a 51G8572 nib from clickykeyboards.com. Still $385 was outrageous for any model M - used or fake nib.

Been watching eBay for months.  Original NIB IBM "white labels" go for $300 to $400.

I guess NIB ones have just gotten much rarer than when many of you folks started collecting these...

Been obsessed with computers for years, but somehow I had missed the train on mechanical keyboards....

Links to NIB white labels? I don't recall seeing any and for sure none that have gone that high. Even the really rare 1987 Industrial didn't come close to that.

Just posted a link that will be visible after moderator approval.  I normally don't see NIB at all actually.  When I do, they've been costly...

[Edit...I should add the link is for a completed auction.  I don't see any new right now, except for an industrial that's marked as new, but appears to have some damage to the case.  I should stop looking at eBay, but I'm hoping a new Model F AT will somehow show up.  I buy the keyboards to use and I didn't mean to become a collector... :smile:]

I'd recommend reading Ripster's writeup, but you replace all the plastic bolts with metal ones. This has the added benefit of tweaking the pressure, as well as being able to fully open it for cleaning, modding, and maintenance.
