Another shady deal. Double the original price lol. I guess it is what it is. I would prefer people to be up front but oh well.

OP, not cool dude. Sounds like you're similar to THIS guy, although not as bad.

You listed it for $40 shipped. Then you should honor that price to the first person that contact/pay you. That's good ethics. If you wanted it to be an auction type of selling, then you need to say that at the beginning, not hold people up and take the highest price behind everyone else's back. I just sold a Filco mx red limited edition, there were many people interested and I could have gotten more for it. But I gave it to the first person that contacted me for exact amount I listed. I guess common ethics is hard for some people.

^^ Seconded.  You should honor the original price, or AT MINIMUM edit the OP and open the bidding so everyone knows what is going on and can have a chance.  Bad form, I say.

Shawn was the current buyer btw.

Next time I will make sure to put $7000 so I don't hear so many complaints. I was asking for $40 shipped, it does not mean that I would not take more. It means, obviously, that $40 shipped is what I am asking for because it is the minimum amount of money that it will take for me to sell. Otherwise I would have kept the keys.

I really don't understand how this is shady.

OBO typically means Or Best Offer and is generally understood to mean that the seller is willing to take less and the posted price is the start of negotiations. Let's not further confuse the issue.

I didn't know, seems like everything is a pseudo auction on this site, seemed like right price based on what "ROUND FOUR" prices show. Either that or everything is sold even before its listed? Or listed and not really for sale at all?

Going to end up selling them for what I paid anyways because the more I look at group buy details I want something slightly different. :-(

I want a proper cap locks key not "control" in its place, correct modifiers not "super", "alt graph", or "meta". I jumped the gun a little....oh well.

You took them from me :(. He said he would of given them to me for $40 if the buyer fell through... sigh. that makes me even more sad. Is what it is I guess.

Posting a price implies that is the price, and the first contact gets it.  If you're unsure of what something is worth, just say "looking for at least $N" or "PM me with offers".  Changing a sale into an auction after the fact is bad etiquette.  Not dishonest, but like I said, bad form.  Your reputation as a seller here is important, don't you think?

I get it, I apologize to everyone whom may have felt slighted to what happened. I've bought and sold a good amount of times on this board and have been a member for a while now and I guess was unaware of the ettiquette.

GH Etiquette: How dare you not give me keys that I am entitled to because I PM'd you first.

edit: kidding aside because I know this stuff makes people's blood boil. A note for people selling stuff, if you want to make the most money, just do an auction :P
