Scifi/Action Movie Inspired Keycaps
« on: Sat, 10 March 2012, 01:05:32 »
I spent a fair amount of time working on a design for my keyboards (work and home) that I planned to have made (probably through WASD, though I was checking out some of the other providers to see what the price jump for PBT would be; I don't believe WASD has PBT as an offering, at leat not yet.)

Unfortunately (or fortunately I suppose), I realized that in practice, enough other people use my computer at home who aren't touch typists that this would be thoroughly impractical. I may throw out this entire design/theme and do a Tron inspired one instead, but I wanted to share what I came up with. Note that these keycaps were destined for a tenkeyless, so the numpad is all just spares. Anyway, enjoy.

In the future keyboards won't be so wordy.

Out of all the actual photos I found of 'futuristic' keyboards/control panels, if the buttons were labelled the labels were usually just random numbers. I had never noticed this before, but now I seem to notice it in every movie.

In the ICBM/BFG area, who not have the classic MDD from ender's game?
