People keep telling me that the I should just ditch the numpad and use the number row. I think you can use a program like autohotkey similar, and you will be able to map the numpad onto the 7,8,9,u,i,o,j,k,l keys. Like on a laptop.

Ok, I can't find any pictures but...
The numpad seems to be slightly higher than a regular filco, I think it is adds around 10cm (widthways) too.

Take a look at the dimensions yourself :P

some pics of mine head on to show the dimensional difference as accurately as possible.

personally I don't like how they look next to each other so I keep them separated by my mouse. I likely would have separated them anyways as I have another keypad on the left and if I wanted a numpad to the direct right I would have gone full size.

something else to be aware of with the filco numpads is that the top row is a non standard height, or at least a height that you wont easily find replacement keycaps for. This makes it hard to replace the keycaps and retain the contour not to mention finding replacements with the right markings. Also getting single size 0 and 00 can be hard to get as well.

The stock layout vs. my personal favorite layout vs. another possibility.
row 5 row 4 row 4
row 4 row 3 row 4
row 3 row 3 row 3
row 2 row 2 row 2
row 1 row 1 row 1
row 1 row 1 row 1

Personally I would wait to see if you adjust and if you don't either buy a full size or the numpad if you really need it. I've only used mine to replay grim fandango and every once in awhile when I make a concerted but short lived effort to use it.
