What keyboard should i take?
« on: Mon, 19 March 2012, 10:14:48 »
Hey guys i am new to mechanical keyboards.
I want to buy one that feels good when typing/gaming/programming.
I think brown switches suits me the best.

I found 2 keyboards:

FC500RT/AB Leopold Tactile Touch Keyboard (http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,fullsize&pid=fc500rtab)
FKBN104M/EFB2    USA Filco Ninja Majestouch-2, NKR, Tactile Action, Keyboard (http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=846)

Filco seems to have a better reputation since the stabilizer are different.
The diference in price between the keyoards is high, 171.285 EUR for the filco and 131.867 EUR for the leopold.
Also i am used to AZERTY layout and most mechanical keyboards are in qwerty, i hope it wont be too hard to get used to it.

What do u guys think?

Thanks in advance

You should compare the final price including shipping/customs tax and so on.

Simple, if you have the money...buy the Filco. If you want to save money, get the Leopold. If you buy a keyboard and you wind up not liking it for whatever reason, sell it on classifieds.

Did you miss that keyboardco sells the French AZERTY Filco? Or did you choose the correct choice of ANSI on purpose?

Oh I see, you're Belgian. Had a look at WASDkeyboards? You can get any layout you want from them. The online editor still doesn't accept every character, but they have template files you can use offline in illustrator or similar. Certainly not a bad plan to switch to US ANSI either though. You will definitely put yourself in a much better position if you want to participate in keycap buys and the like later on. You could even put Belgian Azerty on an ANSI board if you wanted to.
