Changing switches on a filco zero.

I have the oppitunity to buy a filco zero (crappy xm). I should have some blue alps switches soon. Is there any reason I couldn't just put the complicated blue alps on the zero?

dare I say maybe post in KL or Ripster's subforum...also it is holidays so dunno maybe the people who know aren't on the internet..

I imagine aslong as the switch isn't taken apart or needs to be to be put on the circuit board it shouldn't be that different from the cherry mx but I've been warned alps are like a box of chocolates...

One very small caveat:

I suspect he will have the Fukka variant of that keyboard that EK was selling off. XMs are not light, and Fukkas are very loud (cf ABS M1, which isn't even clicky).

Why did only the Fukka version have controller issues? I don't know how compatible the different ALPS types are. I certainly want this swap to succeed, as XM sucks, while complicated blue ALPS are a wonderful switch.

From what I've seen all complicated and simplified alps (and most copies) have interchangeable solder joints. You should be fine.

I have only ever used black alps and hated them. Just saw the chance of getting blue alps and couldn't pass. Then saw Daniel offering zero parts and I thought I might as well jump on that and make an awesome board.
