[AUS] Cheap as new Cherry board, G81-7000 or similar
« on: Sun, 11 March 2012, 18:07:36 »
Hi all,

I'm looking to buy an 'as new' cherry board. Basically just want something to take to lan parties etc.

An ideal example of what I'm after would be a G81-7000 POS (yes, I know it has MY switches). I like it because they are a solid board, and not as 'long' as a full-sized board so easier to fit in my lan party bag. These are the kind of boards that seem to show up on ebay now and then for really cheap, but as yet I haven't found any :-(

Other notes: US layout, I don't mind ps/2 or usb, colour I don't mind too much either.

Price: I can pay up to $30USD including shipping (I'm in Australia, so take that into account).

Many thanks

Scored a cheap NIB G81-1800, so that will do the job fine. Thanks anyway.

You would be better off with a good RD than a g81.

Must have missed your reply. Let me explain why in general you are right, but in this case you are wrong:

-PBT keycaps!!
-Form factor: I really like the layout of this particular cherry board: still all the keys of a full-sized board, but in a compact form factor that fits in my lan party kit perfectly
-Can use standard cherry keycaps (so I can add some novelty keycaps and look cool!)
-I actually like MY switches...for gaming. They are rubbish for most things but I find for gaming they are fine.
