First ever Model M acquisition, need help/suggestions
« on: Thu, 24 May 2012, 08:00:13 »
I found this thing yesterday and had to find somewhere online that would appreciate it. And lo, I found geekhack. Awesome.

I've found a 122-key Terminal M. Across the street from my office is a car parts dealer, and they were offloading old equipment. I got the keyboard, apparently the only M they had. I'm a bit worried that I got taken for a ride on the price, though. It was really expensive - I'm not sure it was worth the investment.

25¢.

Yep. Now, I need to know: How can I convert this Terminal M with its RJ45 jack into something that runs on PS/2 or (ideally) USB?

Do this and you will be a happy chappy.

The other pieces that you will have to buy will cost you quite a bit more than the board itself.

Nice find. The journey of a thousand keyboards starts with a single try.
