Wii U Pro Controller - A Nice Surprise - work with PC?
« on: Wed, 05 December 2012, 16:09:12 »
I am assuming soon enough there will be driver like MotionJoy, a Xpadder profile, and/ or a Pinnacle Game profile that will allow the Wii U Pro Controller to work on pc. I have not played any games with it however it is extremely comfortable, similar to the Xbox 360 controller. I think it might be more comfortable than the 360 gamepad. Obviously I will have to use it for extended periods to determine that with more certainty. The x y b a buttons are below the joystick and triggers are digital, which will suck for driving games, but for everything else it should work fine. For a game like Assassins creed 3, Darksiders 2, etc... I think it would be great to be able to use the Wii U Pro Controller.

Until something is set up officially with Xpadder, Pinnacle or a driver is released is there a way to get it to work on pc, or can I use the xpadder software to get it to work?

My Windows 7 pc recognizes the Nintendo gamepad as a game controller in the Control Panel using Bluetooth, however as expected I can not control games with it. I tried with Far Cry 3 and no success. If anyone has any ideas/ information on how to get it to emulate the 360 gamepad that would be awesome. I will update any progress as it comes.

You can also use the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator:
http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

On which you configure you joystick and from then on, it will be recognized as an Xbox 360 controller, will have automatic mapping for like, 99.9% of all new game releases for PC and will work a lot better than xpadder.

With the Wii U Pro Controller unplugged from my pc the bluetooth connection works. However I can not figure out how to connect it to the TocaEdit Xbox 360 Controller Emulator you recommended. It also does not work when it is plugged in.  Thanks for that recommendation anyway.

Maybe just wait a few weeks, it may even appear on the settings database after some time, as already does with my PS3 DualShock Controller.

I got as far ass "pairing" the controller over bluetooth, and got it to show up in "game controllers" in windows, but it sends no input, and just keeps blinking, as if not paired. Not sure i had to do this to get it in game controlles but in the bluetooth device panel, bring up properties, get the pad to look for sync (sync button or a+b) and the under service you can check the "drivers for keyboard, mice etc(HID)" box.

My guess is what i have read elsewhere, that we need to have a pin code to give to the pro controller for it to be properly paired, and even then we might need some form of driver or wrapper, as it might not conform completely to the hid gamepad spec.

Any idea where to start looking for either of these things?
