Filco and coffee, good combination? You decide...
« on: Tue, 29 May 2012, 09:33:08 »
Well I never did this before...today.

Cup of coffee all over one of my Filcos. Into the shower until the water ran mostly clear but now 6 hours later it's dead when I plug it in.

How do I remove the back from this keyboard? I already unscrewed the one screw under the "Do not remove" label and that seems to have done nothing. Thanks.

Also, plugging it in 6hrs after a cold shower is likely to have killed it even if the coffee didn't. If you give electronics a bath you need to make sure they are thoroughly dried before applying power.

"But it seemed like a good idea at the time."

Oh well, spoke too soon. Not fixed. Does some very wierd things. Works then doesn't work.

How much is a flaky Filco Tenkeyless with coffee damage worth on the geekhack market today?
