I ordered the TEK keyboard because it was everything I wanted in a keyboard, design and key-wise. It arrived today and imagine my disappointment when I plugged the device in and it didn't work. Windows searches for drivers that it cannot find, rendering the keyboard useless. The drivers aren't available on their website, and there's no number I can call for support. I've sent an email with no response thus far.

I'm not a computer superhero, but I know the basics of searching and install a driver. If they don't have the drivers available on their site, there's nothing more I can do is there? Any ideas on how to get this sucker to work?

I'm giving the company the benefit of the doubt for the next 24 hours or so, but I'm growing very concerned that I've been scammed.

As far as I know, the TEK operates much like a normal keyborad: Just as a "normal" USB HID (Human Interface Device). If it's not working on windows, maybe try it on another computer (preferably running linux, lol (not really, I just prefer linux when testing tings)). If it still doesn't work, it's probably defective, and you'll have to RMA is back to them.

Most keyboards should not need additional drivers, I do believe.

Are there any DIP switches or the like underneath or inside that need to be set?

Does it work sufficiently to stop the computer booting into Windows ie pressing one of the keys to go into the BIOS settings?

If it's got a USB plug, have you tried a different USB socket?

The TE does not require drivers other than those that ship with Windows.

What most likely happened is that your keyboard didn't get it's firmware flashed correctly.
I would email TE and they will either tell you that you have to send the keyboard in for replacement or send you instructions on how to flash your firmware.

Mine works perfectly without installing the driver. Using Win 7

I agree with what others have said: the TE requires no special drivers, and worked perfectly on three operating systems where I've tried it -- Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is possible that there is something wrong with your computer, but most likely you simply unfortunately received a faulty unit.

Like you said, the TE is (almost) everything I've ever wanted in a keyboard. I've been using mine for months now, I'm typing on it right now, and it is a great keyboard. If you can manage your frustration, it will be worth it for you to swap your inoperable keyboard for a functional one. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback all. I'd heard some concerning things in the rumor-mill about the company so when it didn't work, my first concern were the rumors were true. I still haven't heard back from the company, but I'm relieved to hear that a large number of people have been successful with the device. Upon these suggestions, I've tried the keyboard with multiple computers running windows and have determined on the computer end, not the keyboard. That's a relief.

The issue is narrowed down to either something about my drivers or registry (to the limit of my limited knowledge) that's causing the TEK to not been seen as a keyboard by my machine, but I haven't determined what. I've surpassed my knowledge so I'll have to have someone else look with me. No other device has given me problems like this, so I'm over my head. But I'm glad to not feel like I wasted my money.

If anyone has any ideas of things I should try please let me know. :)

Just backup your data and reload the OS. I do this every 6 months or so, and it's been a great help.

That said, you can start to look into where your issue is. In the device manager, how is it recognized, etc.
