Can anybody see what's wrong with these pictures? The pump isn't attached, and there's coolant everywhere you say? I sent this message to koolance, I'll be awaiting their response. In the meantime my time here will be limited as my computer is out of commission...

Quote
My COV-RP450 just decided to eject my pump and spew my coolant everywhere while my computer was ON! I put it back together, but as soon as I turn the pump on coolant starts to leak out! The pump and my computer seem to have survived, but the COV-RP450 is completely ****ed! I ordered the COV-RP450 in Order ID: #(censored) on 24 March 2010 from this site. For it to have catastrophically destroyed itself in only 2 years is unacceptable! I expect to be sent a new one ASAP! I can't even use my computer because of this right now!

The asterisks will stay asterisks, lest I get another infraction...

Who else has any koolance horror stories? I've got more myself, but it's really hard to type on this thing... Plus I'm lazy...

I love the colour of your tubing, it's a very "clean" look.
It sucks to hear what happened to your comp, hopefully Koolance fixes the problem.
Although they probably won't do anything about it, unless it is stated somewhere that there is a 2+ year warranty.

That's copper particles inside of the tubing. If I stick a finger inside the tubing it just wipes out. For a $50 part to break in 2 years is unacceptable. That's a QC issue if ever there was one. To take care of the customer and give them a new one should be top priority. If that had been inside of my computer I would have lost everything. The newer ones have an extra support, which tells me this has probably happened to other people too.

This is one of their newer ones. It has an extra plate with 4 metal supports.

Well I just paid $74.91 for 3L of coolant. I hope I can get the COV-RP450 replaced for free, otherwise that'll be another $50 + shipping...

This is what I have to use in the meantime... And yes, those are kiosk internals taped to a CRT. I'm too lazy to reconnect the molex and 3.5mm to produce sound at the moment. With my Sennheiser HD650's and FiiO E7/E9 I can have perfect sound through USB, so why bother. The kiosk speakers do work, and if I cross the wires just right I can hear my neighbors phonecalls. THAT was freaky the first time it happened... The CRT/kiosk frankenstein just can't retire can it... I just realized that there are parts from at least 4 different computers cobbled together here JUST so I can go to GH/DT...

Let me give you my Koolance Experience.

I bought a Koolance RP-452x2 version 1.2 dual bay res last march.
the thing leaked from the very beginning.
I live within driving distance of the koolance corp office and took it to them.
it ended up being that the cylinder that slides over the pump was not creating a good enough seal with the o-ring.
they showed me this and I thought. ok my bad. then the guy crossthreaded my pump mount on the bay during reassembly.
he cracked the black acetyl and when I got it home it leaked again.

They have terrible QC and the engineering staff took 3 years to figure out that they needed to redeisgn the product to mount the pumps with a plate and screws instead of cylinder sleeves.

All the new designed pump mounts have the extra plate with 4 metal supports because enough people at OCN *****ed and got them to reengineer the designs of all the pump mounts.

I went with a ek pump mount instead and I will NEVER buy another Koolance product again.

here is what I replaced it with... much better quality and koolance basically copied ek's design to fix all there pumps :(

and those copper particles inside of the tubing are BAD!!!
that is the copper coming off of your blocks. what blocks are you using?
have you ever used dyes or anything else in the coolant before that could be corrosive?

feser one coolant is what I use. Most of the blocks are koolance, not all... Bitspower is one of them I believe.

This is why I get all sorts of paranoid about liquid cooling solutions.

Happened to a "Freind" of mine about 4-5 years back, lost an 8800, which back then was still a big deal.

Anyone else here get one of their permanently leaking "no spill" quick disconnects? They had to have a recall for those, but I had already replaced mine before they announced it... Those things are expensive to replace...

I use feser tubing with distilled water and a silver coil. a bottle of distilled water is about $7.00 USD and a silver coil is a few bucks from any water cooling site.

I have ek blocks on my cpu and gpu's no oxidation at all after 1 year of use.

My tubing looked copper colored within a few weeks... I highly suspect that it's the bitspower block that caused it. I haven't heard back from koolance yet. I'm gonna call them on Monday and demand they send me a replacement!

No... Should I have? The tubes haven't gotten any darker these last 2 years. I'm gonna have to call them tomorrow as I don't have time today.

very weird...
I would post some pics on OCN in the watercooling forum and get a expert opinion. make sure you supply a complete list of all parts in the OCN thread to make it easier. there may have been a recall on a part in your loop or someone knows a special trick to fix the corrosion.

My quick disconnects were already recalled. I know about that one. I'll look up my other parts then.

Yes, you should always flush new radiators out before putting them in a loop!!  Are you also saying you've had the same water in there for 2 yrs?!  Damn no wonder that water looks awful :p
Also I wouldn't bother with coolant, it's a waste of money.  Distilled water and a silver kill coil or some pure silver fittings is all you need.  I've run that combination for years and have never had any corrosion or algae, you should be doing water changes every 6-8 months ideally.

I have changed my coolant twice since then. The coolant isn't really discolored, it's the inside of the tubing that is. And it just wipes out if I stick my finger inside the tubing. The resevoir is crystal clear as the copper particles can't float up into it for some reason. It has been this exact shade for 2 years now, and if I changed the tubing it would probably stay clear. I didn't know you are supposed to flush radiators before installing them. Maybe it wasn't the bitspower block then, but the radiator instead.

I'd be flushing your whole loop with a mix of distilled water and ISO alcohol, the tubing might just be easier to replace unless the ISO chews through whatever it is.  Would also be worth opening up your waterblocks to check if the fins are clogged up with sediment, unless they're perspex and you can see without having to.

Alcohol would eat my reservoir... I have spare tubing, and if I replace it I'm pretty sure it'll stay clear. My system hasn't been getting warmer so the blocks shouldn't be clogged. As I said before - it turned this shade after less than a month and has stayed this shade since then.
