Hey all

as per the thread title I just received my UK Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja TKL today. Great service from thekeyboardco, as it only came into stock on Friday.

I've always been curious about the red switch and as I've been very happy with my Filco Majestouch 2 (brown switch) but wanted to check it out.

So far..I love it. It doesn't feel as nice to type on as my old Filco and it almost feels unremarkable. Almost as if it feels cheaper than a brown switch. The clickiness (yeah it's a word) of the brown switch is nice but I think I much prefer the reds. The springs feels slightly stiffer than the browns, but maybe it's because it's new. It sounds much quieter too. No keys that ping either.

I asked the thekeyboardco if I didn't like the red switch could I send it back and they said yes, but it's great. My thought was to ebay my old Filco to recoup some money, but don't think I can. It's such a lovely keyboard. I think I have no choice but to stick it in my cupboard as a spare.

No real reason to post this, but thought of you guys when I got it. And it gives me something to type as well.

Cheers

brown switchs don't click, they are tactile :P.

Tactile is when you feel a bump, clicky is when they produce a clicky noise when they actuate. Blue switchs are clicky for example, and so are buckling springs (and both are tactile too !).

yeah I'm a noob :)

But I was trying to describe the difference between the 2. Going back to browns, I think I'm over it. I might sell it after all.

yeah they really are good.

Last year I was tempted to get a Linear R so went to them for advice. The poor guy spent 2 minutes tapping away at both brown and reds switches while I was on the phone to him, and to be fair could have sold me the more expensive keyboard, but he just said save your cash because you'd be happy with the brown switch.

I'm making up for the people who are too ignorant :p (my friend won't even budge an inch as he's 'happy' with £30~ rubber domes)...When/If I go to the UK i'll be sure to attempt converting him...Though I guess some people will never see the point. :(
