Cherry G80 DE/ISO w/ browns still available?
« on: Wed, 22 August 2012, 05:46:39 »
I have read that there are Cherry G80 3000 DE w/ brown switches for sale, but how do I know if a given board on the internet has MX browns or MX clears before purchasing it?

Does anybody know a reliable source that sells these boards for around 50€ with shipping to Germany?

I am not fixed on this particular model, I just want to buy a cheap board with browns and a standard DE layout (no custom layouts) and it should be < 70€ including shipping.

I have read that it is quite easy to change the switches on a cherry board, perhaps I could buy like 100 brown switches, but where can I order this amount for < 20 € (including shipping to Germany)?

No. They all have clears

Try classifieds. If you buy an LSCDE (Blue Switches), you just need Brown Stems, as the spring is the same.

LX*DE would be what you would be wanting to look for, but... I have not seen any for a very long time, I don't really look for DE though, maybe it was discontinued. 1865 is available in that combo though not too hard to find, maybe an alternative? Or just buy whatever and change the stem/spring yourself.
