Replacement for g9
« on: Thu, 29 November 2012, 06:43:26 »
Hello geeks

Its been more than 3 year since got my g9 I was pretty happy with that mouse. Its left click button is dying and I want something new.

Ive tried g700 but I think I am claw grip so It was not comfortable at all after a while a pain starts between my wristle and littlefinger.

I usually play point and click games like dota 2 and some FPS games Natural Selection 2 nowadays maybe Planetside2.

So I was checking that Razer Taipan ambidexterous 8500 dpi. Corsair m60 maybe g9x but I want different brand R.A.T 7.

I dont need any buttons or lights It should very simple. What I need is ergonomics ( I was good with g9) . I heard g9 had acceleration problems. I need full accurate mouse. I dont want things like angle snapping or like that.

Thanks for help.

sorry for bad english.

I don't know much about the Taipan yet, but the Deathadder has a good sensor and does work as a claw grip mouse, at least for me, if not you could check out the Lachesis or Abyssus, although the Abyssus is more of a fingertip mouse.

I haven't heard much about how the sensors on the newer Razer mice are so if you're going for something like the Taipan you should do proper research first. The Deathadder probably has the best sensor of the bunch, but you should try to hold one if you know someone who owns one or in a store, just to see if you can hold it comfortably.

The G9x still has the acceleration deal so that's a no go if you want a sensor without it.

So, top of the head list; Deathadder, Lachesis and Abyssus. Might want to look at the CM Storm Xornet as well.

It sounds like the best options are CM Storm Xornet/Spawn, those are always considered the best claw mouse alongside with G9/G9X.

Though I heard Logitech stopped making G9X so there's a chance that G900 is on the horizon.

I just hope they don't give the G9x the same treatment they gave the G5 when they added 00 to the name, the G500, and the G300 for that matter, looks hideous compared to the G5.

Ive orderd zowie AM optical. I think it has flawless tracking but low dpi options I dont need high dpi so 2000 is already high for me. Its hard to decide what is best for user nowadays really a lot of gaming stuff in the market. I believe most of them are great but Ive read good things for zowie am.

g9x was an option but I want to try something different I cleaned my g9 Its working good again Ive just sprayed some my screen cleaner below left click button Its good now. I also removed precision from windows It tracking nice in low dpi like 800 and 500 poll rate.

Ive already ordered zowie am its focused on fps games Ill try it, price was reasonable.
