Looking to buy
« on: Mon, 29 October 2012, 22:16:52 »
My bolt modded model M needed a good cleaning, so I tried cleaning cleaning it and removed all of the key and key caps.  Now that everything is clean, and reassembled, a lot of the keyboard seems dead.  I think some of the keys still had some water stuck in them when I did the initial assembly.  (No, I did not remove any of the nuts and bolts from the bolt job during the cleaning process.)  You have no idea how upset I am that my baby isn't working.  I'm actually having to resort to an old standby, my IBM KB 8923 by Chicony.  The keyboard I need replaces is one I bought through these forums about three years ago, so I would like to find another bold modded Model M to replace it.

If someone has a bolt modded model M I can buy, please notify me.  I paid only $35.00 for my current one. So I would like to try to stay in that area if at all possible.  Of course, I know shipping will cost an additional $10.00 to $15.00.

Pl,ease help me get a replacement for my baby.

Thank you.

the only thing really susceptible to short-term water damage in an M is the PCB module. you can get a new one for much less than 35 shipped from unicomp. give them a ring.
